To enable the 4th November 2017 Lewes Bonfire celebrations to proceed in a safe manner and for the expediency and safety of the participants, the travelling public and other highway users it will be necessary to implement temporary road closures and temporary prohibition of waiting as detailed below in Lewes and the surrounding area. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, unless otherwise directed by the police for operational reasons. Vehicular access will be at the discretion of Sussex Police e.g. care workers medical, social services and pre-identified BSG members.

The road closures and temporary prohibition of waiting will commence on the 4th November 2017 with road closures commencing at 17:00 hours until 02:00 hours on the 5th November 2017 and the prohibition of waiting including verges and footways commencing at 12:00 hours (noon) on the 4th November 2017 until 02:00 hours on the 5th November 2017.

Temporary road closures

The A275 (A277) Brighton Road from the junction of the A27T (Ashcombe Roundabout) extending northwards via the A275 Neville Road to the B2116 Plumpton Road, Offham. Diversion via A275 A272 A22 A27T and vice versa.

The A26 Malling Down from the B2192 Ringmer Road (Earwig Corner) A26 Cuilfail Tunnel to the A27T (Southerham Roundabout)

Diversion via A26 A272 A22 A27T (Earwig Corner B2192 Halland to A22) and vice versa

The U5065 Southerham Lane will be closed from the junction of the A27T to the A26, Cliffe Industrial Estate.

Diversion via A27 A22 B2192

The C7 Kingston Road at the C324 Well Green Lane junction

Diversion via C324 Wellgreen Lane to the A27T Ashcombe Roundabout and vice versa

U5012 Hamsey Lane will be closed at the junction of the A275. Diversion via A275
