I want to report damage to a footway
Please contact our customer contact centre to report damage to a footway. The local highway Steward will inspect and arrange any required repairs.
When will you repair the pothole in the footway?
When we carry out repairs to the footway is dependent on the size and location of the pothole. Below are some examples:
Footway potholes which are greater than 40mm deep and at least 200mm wide in all directions are made safe or repaired within 2 hours
Footway Potholes which are greater than 30mm and less than 39mm deep and at least 200mm in all directions are made safe or repaired within 5 days
Footway potholes which are greater than 20mm and less than 29mm deep and at least 200mm in all directions are made safe or repaired within 28 days
How do I get a memorial bench placed on a pavement?
You will need to contact your local district or borough council to place a memorial bench on a pavement.
A restaurant’s tables and chairs are obstructing the pavement
Please contact us with further details and we will carry out an inspection. If necessary the matter will then be referred to our Enforcement Team.
There is a car parked on the pavement and causing an obstruction
Obstruction / dangerous parking needs to be reported to the Police on their non-emergency number 101. Alternatively you can report dangerous drive / obstructive parking to Operation Crackdown, which is a Sussex Police scheme and is available on the Operation Crackdown website or on 01243 64 22 22.
