What works are taking place?
We will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing and other associated works on A265 Haremere Hill & Straight Half Mile, Etchingham.
Work will be carried out in two sections as shown on the adjacent maps.
Road closure information
Section 1: A265 Haremere Hill
6-11 April 2021 - Road Closed 8pm-6am
Works Area/Closure: We will be starting work at Etchingham Level Crossing and working our way east as highlighted on the map.
Section 2: A265 Straight Half Mile
12-29 April 2021 - Road Closed 8pm-6am
Works Area/Closure: We will be starting work just east of Oak Close and working our way west to just west of Borders Lane as highlighted on the map.
Traffic will be diverted via A21, A2100 London Road, North Trade Road, B2096 Battle Road, A265 & vice versa.
Information for local people
Vehicle access: The road will be closed to through traffic. This is for your safety and the safety of our workers. If you do need vehicle access then please discuss this with the team on site. We will try to give access where we can but there may be long delays whilst we make the area safe. We will always allow access for emergency vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Weather: If it rains, we might be delayed in our works. We will keep you updated with any changes via advance warning signs.
Parking: There will be ‘no parking’ signs and cones on site to advise where parking is restricted.
Buses: We apologise if our works cause disruption to your bus service. Please check with the bus company for any alterations to the service during this time.
