Full road closures are required for safety purposes to carry out extensive excavations across the carriageway, due to the nature of these works, and the width of the road traffic lights are not possible.

What will happen to the bus service?

Bus services through Beacon Road will be maintained throughout, the works in the area will be carried out at night to enable this. A shuttle bus will be provided to substitute the 101 service through Fairlight Road and Battery Hill.

Traffic will be diverted via Pett Level Road, Chick Hill, Pett Road, A259 & vice versa.

A seperate diversion for HGVs will be signed via Pett Level Road, Sea Road, A259 Tanyard Lane, A259 Icklesham, A259 Guestling, A259 Rye Road & vice versa.
