Croft Road, Crowborough - Carriageway Reconstruction

20th April 2020 for 7 weeks

Scheme Location:

Croft Road, Crowborough - Carriageway Reconstruction

What works are taking place?

We will be carrying out carriageway reconstruction works on Croft Road Crowborough.

The existing road will be churned up and recycled as the foundation of the new road, a new surface will then be applied to the foundation. This reconstruction is needed due to the soft underlying ground conditions and will provide a good foundation for the road.

Work will start on Monday 20th April 2020 and continue until Wednesday 10th June 2020.

The nature of the work means we cannot open up the road as the recycled foundation will need time to harden once laid, therefore the road will be closed to through traffic 24 hours a day from High Street to Myrtle/South View Road. You may have to take the diversion on occasions to access your property/business depending on where the works are happening at the time. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Work will be carried out in 3 phases in order to minimise disruption to you. Our Public Liaison Officer will be on site for these works to help assist with any issues or queries.

Phase One will take place on Monday 20th April 2020 for 1 day. This will be from the junction with High Street to south of the Waitrose Car Park. On this day, access to the car park will be maintained via Beacon Road, Mill Lane & Pine Grove

Phase Two will start on Tuesday 21st April 2020 and continue until Friday 8th May 2020. This will be from Waitrose Cark Park to south of the Mill Lane mini Roundabout.

Phase Three will start on Monday 11th May 2020 and continue until Wednesday 10th June 2020. This will be from south of Mill Lane to Myrtle Road.

Following the works on Croft Road, we will be carrying out works on Whitehill Road, Crowborough. We will provide more details on this nearer the time.

Traffic will be diverted via High Street, A26, South View Road & vice versa. This diversion route will remain the same for all phases.

The official diversion route shown here is to cater for large vehicles and buses. Locals will use their local knowledge to move around the town
