High Street Wadhurst - Carriageway Resurfacing
What works are taking place?
We will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing plus associated ironworks, lining, cats eyes and setts repairs on High Street, Wadhurst.
When will these works start?
Work will start on Monday 3rd August 2020 and continue until Wednesday 12th August 2020.
Road closure information
High Street will be closed to through traffic between 8pm & 6am each night from B2100 Mayfield Lane to Foxhole Lane. The road will reopen each day.
Access for residents and businesses will be maintained but you may have to take the diversion.
Traffic will be diverted via B2099, A21, A265, A267, B2100 & vice versa.
Information for local people
The associated ironworks, lining, cats eyes and sett repairs will take place after the resurfacing and will continue until October. The road will remain open during these works but with possible delays at times.
Vehicle access: The road will be closed to through traffic. This is for your safety and the safety of our workers. If you do need vehicle access then please discuss this with the team on site. We will try to give access where we can but there may be long delays whilst we make the area safe. We will always allow access for emergency vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Weather: If it rains, we might be delayed in our works. We will keep you updated with any changes via advance warning signs.
Parking: Please park your vehicle off road or in another location, otherwise your vehicle may be towed away. There will be ‘no parking’ signs and cones on site to advise where parking is restricted.
Buses: We apologise if our works cause disruption to your bus service. Please check with the bus company for any alterations to the service during this time.
Bin Collections: We have informed your local council about these works. Your local District or Borough Council will let you know if there are any changes to your collection.
Covid-19: We are working strictly in accordance with the latest government and industry advice to ensure our workers and the public remain safe, including; planning works to minimise contact between workers, workers are travelling to site alone, working at a safe distance from each other, regular hand washing and use of hand sanitiser, and use of enhanced cleaning procedures for vehicles and equipment. Please be considerate of our workers carrying out these works during this difficult time; they have a critical role in keeping our network safe and ensuring easy passage for other essential workers.
