London Road, Mountfield - Carriageway Resurfacing
What works are taking place?
We will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works on London Road, Mountfield.
When will these works start?
Work will start on Monday 29th June 2020 and continue for up to 5 weeks.
Road closure information
Section 1 - 29th June for 5 weeks - From level crossing heading north to John’s Cross Roundabout.
Section 2 - Saturday 1st August for 1 night - As shown on the map in red, across junction with gypsum mine access road.
Due to the nature of the works, the road will be closed to through traffic 24 hours a day. Access to residents and recycling site will be maintained but you may need to take the diversion route.
Traffic will be diverted via A21, Junction Rd, A2100 The Ridge West, A2100 Battle Rd, A2100 Hastings Rd, A2100 Battle Hill, A2100 Lower Lake, A2100 Upper Lake, A2100 High St & vice versa.
Information for local people
Vehicle access: The road will be closed to through traffic. This is for your safety and the safety of our workers. If you do need vehicle access then please discuss this with the team on site. We will try to give access where we can but there may be long delays whilst we make the area safe. We will always allow access for emergency vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Weather: If it rains, we might be delayed in our works. We will keep you updated with any changes via advance warning signs.
Parking: Please park your vehicle off road or in another location, otherwise your vehicle may be towed away. There will be ‘no parking’ signs and cones on site to advise where parking is restricted.
Buses: We apologise if our works cause disruption to your bus service. Please check with the bus company for any alterations to the service during this time.
Bin Collections: We have informed your local council about these works. Your local District or Borough Council will let you know if there are any changes to your collection.
Covid-19: We are working strictly in accordance with the latest government and industry advice to ensure our workers and the public remain safe, including; planning works to minimise contact between workers, workers are travelling to site alone, working at a safe distance from each other, regular hand washing and use of hand sanitiser, and use of enhanced cleaning procedures for vehicles and equipment. Please be considerate of our workers carrying out these works during this difficult time; they have a critical role in keeping our network safe and ensuring easy passage for other essential workers.
