What works are taking place?

We will be carrying out works to construct a retaining wall to edge of carriageway on Pett Level Road, Fairlight by Stream House and Leather Waggon.

When will these works start?

Work will start on Monday 20 June and continue for three weeks.

This date may be subject to change. We will keep you updated with any changes via the signs on site and our website.

Road closure information

A section of Pett Level Road (highlighted) will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the works.

We will try and accommodate pedestrians and cyclists wherever possible. However, as there is no footway at this location, it will not always be possible for safety reasons.

Peter James Lane and Rosemary Lane are narrow lanes and for access only. This will be clearly marked on site and these roads are not to be used as a diversion route.

Regular traffic will be diverted via Chick Hill, Pett Road, Friars Hill, A259 Winchelsea Road, A259 Rye Road, A259 Old London Road, Fairlight Road and vice versa.

A separate diversion route for HGVs will be signed on site.
