Stonefield Road, Hastings - Micro Asphalt Surfacing

10-13 August & 17-18 August 2022

Scheme Location:

Stonefield Road, Hastings - Micro Asphalt Surfacing

Scheme Information:

What works are taking place?

We will be carrying out micro asphalt surfacing works on Stonefield Road, Hastings.

Micro asphalt is a thin surfacing that is mixed in a lorry and laid on top of the existing road surface.

Micro asphalt seals and waterproofs the road and improves the skid resistance and ride quality, extending the life of the road by up 10 years.

We will return around two weeks after the micro-asphalt has been laid to raise any iron work that is low and reinstate any lining.

When will these works start?

Surfacing work will take place 10-12 August 2022.

If it rains or is either too hot (temperatures over around 30°C) or too cold (temperatures below around 10°C) then we will not be able to carry out the work. We will reschedule these and let you know via the signs on site as to when the works will happen.

Following the recent surfacing works, we will be returning to carry out repairs to speed humps on Stonefield Road, Hastings. This work will take place on 17 & 18 August 2022.

Road closure information

During this time, Stonefield Road will be closed from Castle Hill Road to Queens Road.

Traffic will be diverted via Castle Hill Road, Albert Road and Queens Road.
