Monday 18th March 2019 for 4 weeks
We will be carrying out carriageway reconstruction works on Cooden Sea Road, Bexhill.
We will be using a repair method known as reconstruction. This is because as a busy road with high traffic volumes it needs a more extensive repair in order to keep it in a better condition for longer. This type of repair does take longer than standard resurfacing which is why the road will be closed for 4 weeks.
Work will start on Monday 18th March 2019 and continue for 4 weeks.
Cooden Sea Road will be closed to through traffic from north of Popps Lane to Withyham Road.
Due to the nature of the works, the road will be closed 24 hours a day. Access for residents in adjacent roads will be maintained.
Businesses will be open as usual. Access to Cooden Beach Hotel & Train Station will be maintained via Cooden Drive.
Traffic will be diverted via A259 Little Common Road, A269 London Road, Buckhurst Place, Sackvile Road, Wickham Avenue, Cooden Drive and vice versa.
Vehicle access: The road will be closed to through traffic. This is for your safety and the safety of our workers. If you do need vehicle access then please discuss this with the team on site. We will try to give access where we can but there may be long delays whilst we make the area safe. We will always allow access for emergency vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Weather: If it rains, we might be delayed in our works. We will keep you updated with any changes via advance warning signs.
Buses: We apologise if our works cause disruption to your bus service. Please check with the bus company for any alterations to the service during this time.
Bin Collections: We have informed your local council about these works. Your local District or Borough Council will let you know if there are any changes to your collection.
