Mount Pleasant Road, Hastings - Carriageway Resurfacing

What works are taking place?

We will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works on Mount Pleasant Road, a section of Elphinstone Road & Queens Road roundabout in Hastings.

When will these works start?

Work will start on Monday 14th October 2019 and continue until Sunday 3rd November 2019.

Road closure information

14-25 October: Mount Pleasant/Elphinstone Road will be closed to through traffic between 8pm and 6am from Park Gate Roundabout to Calvert Road. We will be starting work at the Queen’s Road roundabout junction and heading north.

28 October-3 November: We will be working on the Queen’s Road rounabout and its approaches. The roundabout will be closed between 8pm and 6am.

The road will reopen outside of working hours.

Diversion

Traffic will be diverted via A259 Old London Road, A259 The Bourne, A259 Pelham Place, A259 Denamrk Place, A259 Carlisle Parade, A259 Eversfield Place, A2102 London Road, A21 Bohemia Road, A21 London Road, A21 Sedlescombe Road North and vice versa.

Information for local people

Vehicle access: The road will be closed to through traffic. This is for your safety and the safety of our workers. If you do need vehicle access then please discuss this with the team on site. We will try to give access where we can but there may be long delays whilst we make the area safe. We will always allow access for emergency vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Weather: If it rains, we might be delayed in our works. We will keep you updated with any changes via advance warning signs.

Parking: Please park your vehicle off road or in another location, otherwise your vehicle may be towed away. There will be ‘no parking’ signs and cones on site to advise where parking is restricted.

Buses: We apologise if our works cause disruption to your bus service. Please check with the bus company for any alterations to the service during this time.
