Mount Street, Battle - Kerbing & Carriageway Resurfacing

What works are taking place?

We will shortly be carrying out kerbing and carriageway resurfacing works on Mount Street, Battle.

When will these works start?

Kerbing work will start on Monday 14th October 2019 and continue for 6 days. During this time, Mount Street will remain open with temporary traffic lights in place.

Resurfacing work will start on Sunday 20th October 2019 and continue for 4 days.

Road closure information

During the resurfacing works, Mount Street will be closed to through traffic between 7am and 7pm from A2100 High Street to Virgins Lane.


Traffic will be diverted via A2100 High Street, London Road, Virgins Lane and vice versa.

Information for local people

Access to the car park will not be possible on Sunday 20th October 2019. After this, we will try to maintain access to the car par wherever possible but there will be delays.

Vehicle access: The road will be closed to through traffic. This is for your safety and the safety of our workers. If you do need vehicle access then please discuss this with the team on site. We will try to give access where we can but there may be long delays whilst we make the area safe. We will always allow access for emergency vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Weather: If it rains, we might be delayed in our works. We will keep you updated with any changes via advance warning signs.

Parking: Please park your vehicle off road or in another location, otherwise your vehicle may be towed away. There will be ‘no parking’ signs and cones on site to advise where parking is restricted.

Buses: We apologise if our works cause disruption to your bus service. Please check with the bus company for any alterations to the service during this time.

Bin Collections: We have informed your local council about these works. Your local District or Borough Council will let you know if there are any changes to your collection.
